Welcome to the Responsible Gambling Resource Centre website
The Responsible Gambling Resource Centre (RGRC) works to use education and awareness to address the prevention of problem gambling and to connect people with treatment resources in the community. It is about providing Nova Scotians with solid, factual information to help keep players responsible.
Responsible Gambling Resource Centres are located on-site at Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax and Sydney near the main lobbies.
The Centres are managed and staffed by trained educators from FGIworld, a market leader in providing total health solutions in both the public and private sectors.
Goals of the RGRC
- to help gamblers know the facts about responsible gambling
- to provide information and assistance for people who are worried about their gambling, or the gambling of someone close to them
- to support casino staff in their efforts to assist a patron who may have a problem with their gambling
The Centre does not provide counselling services, but does provide linkages to treatment and other resources for those who request it. There is no charge for any RGRC service and all information is confidential.

Resources
A tool for educating visitors includes an interactive slot-tutorial demo called
"Safe @ Play."
The Responsible Gambling Resource Centre also provide:
- Responsible gambling brochures;
- General wellness brochures;
- Information on the Voluntary Self-Exclusion program;
- Information on the Problem Gambling Helpline; and,
- Educational PowerPoint presentation

Nova Scotia Health Promotion Problem Gambling Helpline is a province-wide service to help problem gamblers, their family, friends and others who may be adversely affected by their gambling. Hours of Operation
The Responsible Gambling Resource Centres are open daily from:
Halifax: 11 a.m.- 2 a.m.
Sydney: 1 p.m.- 1 a.m.
While the RGRC is closed, the Nova Scotia Health Promotion Problem Gambling Helpline is available and because the Resource Centre is an open concept, information and brochures are accessible 24-hours a day.
